Gold medal for Evelyne Leu

Evelyne Leu, the HEAD acrobatic skier, not only made the “Full-Full-Full” last Thursday in Sauze d´Oulx look easy, but brought her to the podium with nothing less than a gold medal. A well deserved Olympic Victory!

Years after the terrible accident in the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic games, where Evelyne fell head first in the final after leading in the qualifications, the soon to be 30 year old put the dots on the i’s concerning her career. After being fifth in the first round, Leu got the highest points of the evening for the second attempt of her favourite jump, the “Full-Full-Full”. She won in front of the Chinese Nina Li and the Australian Alisa Camplin.

Final Result:
1. Evelyne Leu (CH) 202,55 (94,62/107,93). 2. Nina Li (CN) 197,39 (100,81/ 96,58). 3. Alisa Camplin (AU) 191,39 (94,99/96,40).
