Riesch wins Super Combined World Cup

March 9th, 2008

HEAD racer Maria Riesch took second place in the final Women's World Cup Super Combined race in Crans Montana, Switzerland, on Sunday March 9th, and secured the Women's World Cup Super Combined Crystal Globe. This is the second Globe for team HEAD in this 2007/2008 season already, with Bode Miller taking the men’s title earlier this season.

Maria Riesch displayed her World Cup Downhill power on the slopes in Switzerland, which laid the foundation for her peak Super Combined result. With her fourth place time she managed to secure a great start position for the final Slalom run.

Crystal Globe goes to Maria Riesch

In this demanding Slalom run, Riesch fell right into her best rhythm. This performance left her with a peak time in the field of competitors. The German’s excellent run set the bar pretty high for the competition, and in the end was only passed by two tenths of a second which left her celebrating the first Crystal Globe of her career. At the season final in Bormio, Italy Riesch will have another chance to win one more globe in Super G.
