Third place for Olsson in Lake Louise

November 30th, 2008

With start number 5 onto the podium
The fastest Swedish rider in the alpine Worldcup currently is HEAD-Racer Hans Olsson. Profiting by the excellent conditions in this season's first speed contest in Lake Louise, the Swede showed a nearly perfect run. Demonstrating a high sense for the conditions, Olsson was carefully using the edges and let his skis go in the extremely icy steep turn.

Waiting till the end
Taking all the speed in to the final flat section, Olsson finished first, at that time not expecting to be on the podium in the end. Only two more competitors were able to beat his time – in the end Olsson missed his first victory by only 16 hundredths of a second. This third place is his best ranking in the World Cup ever. The next race in Canada for the men will take place November 30th with a Super G.
