Grete Eliassen carries off silver from X-Games

January 26th, 2009

With best run score of 79 points, HEAD freeskier Grete Eliassen finished women’s Slopestyle competition at the winter X-Games 13 in second place. Beside heavy snowfalls throughout the competition, limiting visibility that made skiing conditions more difficult than normal, only a gap of six points chopped her from X-Games gold.

Winter X Games 13 marks the eighth year of Skiing Slopestyle, but 2009 is the first year the women have taken part. Using the same course as snowboarders, skiers showcased their freestyle skills on a variety of obstacles including rails, kickers, jumps and gaps.
