HEAD Player Andy Murray Moves on to Finals

January 28th, 2010

The HEAD racquet rebels once again prove that they are a force to be reckoned with in 2010. Andy Murray will appear in his second Grand Slam final after a semi-final victory over his fellow HEAD Player Marin Cilic in Melbourne Park today.

HEAD Racquet Rebels Andy Murray and Marin Cilic went head to head at the semi-finals in Melbourne’s packed Rod Laver Arena today.

After starting the game as the stronger player, the 14th seed Cilic – who plays with a HEAD YouTek Radical MP – eventually had to succumb to Scotsman Andy Murray. Up until the semi-finals, Marathon Man Marin Cilic had gone through the tournament winning three 5 setters and beating two of the top 10 players – fourth seed Juan-Martin Del Potro and No. 7 seed Andy Roddick.

But already the second set showed the fifth seed Murray taking over the game and not handing it back until his win of 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 after three hours and two minutes.

Murray, who plays with a HEAD YouTek Radical Pro, had reached the semi-final match without dropping a single set in a fantastic walkover. In the quarter finals, Murray dominated the world No. 2 Rafael Nadal in a blockbuster-match last Tuesday.

Murray will face the winner of Friday’s semi-final between Roger Federer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the Grand Slam finale on Sunday.
