Double world champion Elisabeth Görgl has renewed her contract with HEAD until after the Olympic Games in Sotchi 2014. By making this decision she is staying within the most successful Women’s World Cup team in alpine skiing. Görgl herself had a considerable influence on the huge success of the last season. She managed to win two gold medals in Downhill and Super G at the World Championships in Germany. In four of five disciplines she is among the top racing athletes.
HEAD-Race director Rainer Salzgeber praises his athlete: „Lizz is very professional. Considering her abilities it’s obvious that she will be one of the candidates for winning the Overall World Cup next season. Having an outlook on the upcoming World Championships at her home site she will be a great testimonial as well. We are very happy that Lizz has decided to stay with our team and that we’ll be able to continue this successful cooperation”. The thirty-year old will use the whole HEAD package: skis, ski boots and bindings.
Elisabeth Görgl: „I am not looking for any more experiments in my career. I fully trust in my equipment and the whole team working with me.” By continuing this cooperation with HEAD, Görgl hopes to reach her athletic goals: “Of course I want to further attack in the World Cup and I have to defend a lot at the World Championships 2013 in Schladming. One year later the Winter Games in Sochi will be coming up. To be successful I need the fastest skis I can get – and I already have them!”
