SIMON CLAIMS TITLE IN METZ / DJOKOVIC CELEBRATES 100 WEEKS AS NO.1

September 23rd, 2013

HEAD racquet rebel Gilles Simon celebrated his first ATP title of the year when he defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-4, 6-3 in the final of the Moselle Open in Metz, France. Simon, who endorses the HEAD YouTek™ IG Prestige, lifted his 11th career trophy and already his second in Metz after first winning in 2010. The ATP No. 16, who just celebrated the birth of his second son, claimed victory without the loss of a set during the week at the Moselle Open. The Frenchman also captured his first indoor title in three years and improved to 32-10 this season. The 28-year-old is only one win away from the 300th victory of his career.

"I was fighting a lot today. I saw that I had a chance and I managed to win. I'm very happy about that", said the HEAD winner. “I cannot become a father every week. It's a beautiful story for sure. Unfortunately my wife and children couldn't be here today. It was a great moment for me because I missed the birth of our first child and this time I was able to be there. I was very happy about that."

Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, ambassador of the HEAD YouTek™ IG Prestige, reached the final of the St. Petersburg Open before falling to Ernests Gulbis 3-6, 6-4, 6-0.

Novak Djokovic celebrates his 100th week at No. 1 in the Emirates ATP Rankings. He is only the ninth player in ATP World Tour history to reach the milestone.
